Southwest Baptist University's top competitive programming team received a second-place ranking in the Central Plains Region Programming Contest on April 7 at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.

Southwest Baptist University honored David and Betty Cribbs of Bolivar and their family with the official dedication and naming of the David and Betty Cribbs Athletic Practice Facility Thursday, May 5.
Southwest Baptist University has selected the "little sisters" and "little brothers" for Homecoming 2017. Each child will escort a king and queen or prince and princess candidate during the Homecoming parade at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 23. The "little sisters" and "little brothers" are grandchildren or children of SBU employees.

Southwest Baptist University students in the Multi-Media for Non-Profit Organizations and TV II Production classes recently received five awards, including two first-place honors, in the 2017 Missouri Broadcast Educators Association Media Contest.
The Southwest Baptist University department of music will present the Wind Symphony, University Band and Percussion Ensemble in concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 27, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

Ellen Rose Douglas Roweton of Bolivar, and Thomas B. Welch, '78 of Victoria, Minn., received Honorary Doctor degrees from Southwest Baptist University during the annual Founders' Day chapel service held Monday, March 5, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

Southwest Baptist University celebrated the inauguration of Eric A. Turner, Ed.D., as its 25th president in a ceremony Friday, April 26, in Mabee Chapel on the Bolivar campus.
