Southwest Baptist University's First Lady, Judy Taylor, passed away Saturday, March 26, in Bolivar, leaving a legacy of nearly two decades of service to the University.

Southwest Baptist University held a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Judy Taylor Physical Therapy Garden and the Warren B. Davis Family Physical Therapy Center Faculty Practice on Oct. 6 at the facility at 2103 S. Springfield Ave., Bolivar.

Southwest Baptist University conferred 220 undergraduate and 265 graduate degrees during two ceremonies Saturday, May 14, on the Bolivar campus. Another 149 degrees were conferred Thursday, May 12, in Springfield to graduates of the Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences of SBU.
The Chamber Singers of Southwest Baptist University will present a concert of early choral music on Thursday, April 5, in the racquetball courts of the Meyer Wellness Center on the Bolivar campus.

Tarah Goodknight, a Southwest Baptist University student in SBU's Gordon and Judy Dutile Honors Society, has been awarded the Distinguished Member Scholarship from the National Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. Goodknight, a biology major from Princeton, Mo., currently serves as co-vice president of the SBU chapter of Phi Eta Sigma.

Southwest Baptist University's Dr. Jodi Meadows recently was selected as a presenter during the 52nd annual National Collegiate Honors Council conference in Atlanta, Ga. The conference, themed "Just Honors," highlighted student and faculty research presentations from across the nation, providing training and development for honors program administrators.
Southwest Baptist University is working toward offering a nursing degree on the University's main campus in Bolivar, and Citizens Memorial Hospital/Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation has made a lead gift of $600,000 toward funding startup costs for the program.
The Southwest Baptist University Concert Choir and the Bolivar Community Choir will present their annual Fall concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.
