SBU Speaking Bearcats finish in Top 5 at national tournament

Southwest Baptist University's Speaking Bearcats finished in the top 5 at the Pi Kappa Delta National Tournament and Convention held March 14-17, 2018, at Tennessee State University, in Nashville, Tenn.

Fulbright Visiting Scholar to lecture at SBU on Dec. 4

Southwest Baptist University's Darrell R. Strait Center, along with the Physics and Pre-Engineering and International clubs, welcome Fulbright Visiting Scholar Dr. Mamta Bhatia as she presents lectures at 4 and 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 4 in room 139 of the Wheeler Science Center on the Bolivar campus.

Biblical Archaeology Conference to open exhibit at SBU

BOLIVAR, Mo. - Southwest Baptist University will open the special exhibit "Khirbet el-Maqatir - A Journey through Biblical History" with a biblical archaeology conference, featuring Dr. Scott Stripling, on Saturday, Feb. 24 on the Bolivar campus.

SBU announces Spring 2018 Chapel schedule

Southwest Baptist University welcomes students, staff and the community to spring semester Chapel services, which take place weekly at 10 a.m. on campus in Pike Auditorium beginning Wednesday, Jan. 24 through Wednesday, May 9. The focus for the spring semester is "Worship is More than a Song."

Committee of trustees conducts appeal hearing

Pursuant to the appeal process as outlined in Southwest Baptist University's Faculty Handbook, the Educational Policies and Personnel Committee of the SBU Board of Trustees met Dec. 21. The committee conducted an approximately five-hour appeal hearing with an employee.

New faculty join SBU for 2017-2018 academic year

Southwest Baptist University is pleased to announce 11 new faculty members for the 2017-2018 academic year. SBU's faculty is integral in the University's mission to be a Christ-centered, caring academic community preparing students to be servant leaders in a global society.

SBU CIS announces senior projects for 2018-2019

Southwest Baptist University's Department of Computer and Information Sciences has selected 23 seniors - the largest class in the department's history - to work on six projects sponsored by several leading companies and organizations, including the U.S. Federal Reserve banking system.

SBU Trustees approve fundraising campaign

Southwest Baptist University's Board of Trustees approved a $175,000 fundraising campaign during the board's April 24 meeting.
