Southwest Baptist University's Department of Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) professor Dr. Jeffrey Kimball is the newest CIS faculty member to earn a Ph.D. Dr. Kimball successfully defended his dissertation research project Nov. 24 at the College of Engineering and Computing at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
The Chamber Singers of Southwest Baptist University will present the traditional "Ye Olde Madrigal Dinners" at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1 and Friday, Dec. 2, in the McClelland Dining Facility on the Bolivar campus.

Expo to feature Fortnite tournament, chance to win scholarship Two new and popular events on Southwest Baptist University's Bolivar campus are joining forces this year to host the inaugural Southwest Comic and Gaming Expo to be held April 21, with prizes and a scholarship to be awarded.

Southwest Baptist University student Kensi Hogan of Nevada, Mo., was honored by the SBU University Libraries as the Outstanding Student Assistant of the Month for March 2019.
The SBU Community Concert Series presents the second concert in its inaugural season with Brazilian flutist Danilo Mezzadri at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19 in Meyer Recital Hall on the Bolivar campus of Southwest Baptist University.

Homecoming festivities at Southwest Baptist University will begin with Honors Chapel at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, in Pike Auditorium, when seven alumni will be recognized for living lives of service.

Serving others is at the heart of the mission for the faculty, staff, and doctor of physical therapy students at Southwest Baptist University. SBU's DPT department hosted an event on Nov. 4 called "Go Baby Go" to provide mobility opportunities for local children with disabilities.
