Austin, Gooch receive Life Beautiful Awards at SBU commencement

Southwest Baptist University conferred 218 undergraduate and 198 graduate degrees during two ceremonies Saturday, May 20, on the Bolivar campus. Another 129 degrees were conferred Thursday, May 18, in Springfield, to graduates of the Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences of SBU.

SBU student organizations coordinate to serve the needy

Student groups housed in Southwest Baptist University's Robert W. Plaster College of Business and Computer Science organized collections to benefit those in need this Christmas season.

Hopkins presents at 2019 Interface Conference

Southwest Baptist University's Dr. Kevin Hopkins, professor and chair of the SBU Department of Mathematics, presented at the Interface 2019 Professional Development Event, which was held Feb. 21-26 at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Mo.

37th annual Festival of Christmas to be held Dec. 3

The 37th annual Festival of Christmas, sponsored by Southwest Baptist University and Community Outreach Ministries, will be presented at 6 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3, in Mabee Chapel on SBU's Bolivar campus.

More than 90 students graduate from SBU in Bolivar

Ninety-two undergraduate students graduated from Southwest Baptist University during commencement Friday, Dec. 18, at the Jane and Ken Meyer Wellness and Sports Center on the Bolivar campus. The University holds graduation twice a year, in December and May.

SBU Theatre to present Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night"

Southwest Baptist University Theatre is presenting William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night, or What You Will" at 7 p.m. Nov. 10-12 in the Davis-Newport Theatre on the Bolivar campus.

Area high school bands take home trophies from SBU Homecoming parade

The Southwest Baptist University department of music hosted a band competition as part of the annual Homecoming parade on Sept. 23, 2017, through downtown Bolivar and the SBU campus.

SBU selects Kimbrough as theology professor

Matt Kimbrough, Ph.D., will join the faculty at Southwest Baptist University in January 2020. He will be an Assistant Professor of Theology in The Courts Redford College of Theology and Ministry.
