Three Southwest Baptist University alumni were presented special awards in recognition of living lives of service and Dr. C. Pat Taylor was recognized for his 20 years as SBU president at Honors Chapel on Friday, Sept. 30.

The Southwest Baptist University Department of Music presents Dr. Terri Knupps, professor of music, on euphonium in a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8 in Meyer Recital Hall. The concert also features Dr. Melinda Smashey Jones, professor of music, on piano; mezzo-soprano Dr. Robin Smith, assistant professor of music; and Dr. Jennifer Jester on euphonium.
Two faculty members and a staff member were honored at Southwest Baptist University's annual convocation Wednesday, Aug. 23. Convocation marks the formal beginning of the academic year and is a time when campus gathers to focus on SBU's mission and traditions.

Southwest Baptist University student Inna Dron of Brighton, Mo., was honored by the SBU University Libraries as the Outstanding Student Assistant of the Month for September 2016.
The Southwest Baptist University Department of Music will present "Winds and Friends," featuring the SBU Wind Symphony, at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 9, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.
Southwest Baptist University's Barnett-Padgett Literary Artist Series will feature Dr. Jordan Cofer at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in room 230 in the Jester Learning and Performing Center on the SBU campus. His talk, entitled "The Gospel According to Flannery O'Connor," will be followed by a question and answer time.

Faculty and students of Southwest Baptist University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program presented research at the Combined Sections Meeting of the American Physical Therapy Association held last month in Anaheim, Calif., which was attended by more than 11,000 physical therapy professionals and students.
