Skinkle named new provost at SBU

Southwest Baptist University has selected Lee Skinkle, Ph.D., as its next provost, effective June 1. As provost, Skinkle will be the university's chief academic officer, providing visionary leadership and direction for all academic areas.

SBU Trumpet Ensemble performs at Midwest Trumpet Festival

The Southwest Baptist University Trumpet Ensemble, under the direction of Tim Wootton, performed at the Midwest Trumpet Festival on Oct. 7-8 at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts on the Pittsburg (Kan.) State University campus.

Two SBU students to be crowned Mr. and Miss Southwest at annual pageant

Southwest Baptist University continues the tradition of honoring one male and one female student each year at the annual Mr. and Miss Southwest Pageant, which takes place this year at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 4, in Pike Auditorium on the SBU campus.

SBU ANNOUNCES FALL 2016 CHAPEL SCHEDULE

Southwest Baptist University welcomes students, staff and the community to fall semester Chapel and Equip services, which take place weekly at 10 a.m. on campus in Pike Auditorium beginning Monday, Aug. 22 through Wednesday, Dec. 7. Chapel services, which occur on Mondays, feature corporate worship and encouragement, and Equip services, which occur on Wednesdays, focus on teaching and equipping.

Liberty Utilities donates to renovation project at SBU

Liberty Utilities - Empire District recently delivered a $15,000 check to Southwest Baptist University that is part of $30,000 pledge toward the $175,000 renovation of the Lloyd & Frances Randolph Meditation Chapel.

Enrollment up at SBU's Mountain View campus

Enrollment for Southwest Baptist University's Mountain View campus is up for the 2016 fall semester - a 35.4 percent increase from the 2015 fall semester enrollment.

SBU Enactus finishes in the top 20 in the nation

Southwest Baptist University's Enactus team advanced to the semi-final round in the Enactus USA national competition in St. Louis May 15-17, placing the team in the top 20 in the nation. The team previously won the regional competition in Rogers, Ark., April 18, to advance to the national competition that started with nearly 200 teams.

SBU, Drury gearing up for fifth, final CatFight Giving Challenge

Southwest Baptist University and Drury University are teaming up and shooting for the $500,000 fundraising benchmark in the fifth and final CatFight Giving Challenge, through which the universities compete to raise money for their annual funds.
