Southwest Baptist University students were recognized for their contributions to their academic departments and colleges at Honors Chapel on May 1 in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.
Aaron Canfield and Laura Manuel were announced as the 2019 Southwest Baptist University Homecoming King and Queen at halftime of the Bearcats' football game against Quincy University on Oct. 19.

Southwest Baptist University's Dr. Bethany Wood, assistant professor of theatre, recently had her book - "Women Adapting: Bringing Three Serials of the Roaring Twenties to Stage and Screen (Studies in Theatre History and Culture)" - published by University of Iowa Press.
Southwest Baptist University Theatre will present the French comedy, "Tartuffe," on Nov. 7-9 and Nov. 14-16 at 7 p.m. in the Davis-Newport Theatre on the Bolivar campus.

Southwest Baptist University mourns the passing of Stephen Carr '15, who died Saturday, Dec. 7, in the line of duty as a police officer in Fayetteville, Ark.

Southwest Baptist University Assistant Director of Safety and Security Emily Raymond recently passed the exam to obtain the Certified Protection Officer (CPO) designation through the International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO).
