The Southwest Baptist University Student Association is hosting the fourth annual C. Pat Run 5K at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 23. The race begins and ends on the SBU campus.
The Southwest Baptist University Speaking Bearcats won their third-consecutive Missouri Association of Forensics Activities (MAFA) State Championship on Feb. 22-23 in St. Louis, as well as had two students selected to represent Missouri for the Interstate Oratorical competition.

Southwest Baptist University is set to graduate 151 students at two winter 2019 commencement ceremonies. The bachelor degree ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, and the ceremony for all associate degree graduates is at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. Both ceremonies will be held in the Jane and Ken Meyer Wellness and Sports Center.

Southwest Baptist University's Tim Chappell, assistant professor of mathematics, recently presented at the 2019 AMATYC conference in Milwaukee, Wis.
The SBU Department of Music announces the second season of the SBU Community Concert Series and the William and Kathy Brown Guest Artist Series, both of which bring national and international guest performers to the SBU and Bolivar communities, for the 2019-2020 season.

Tickets are now on sale for the 16th annual "Ye Olde Madrigal Dinners," which will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Dec. 5-6, in the McClelland Dining Facility on the Southwest Baptist University Bolivar campus.
Susan Cooper, assistant registrar, and Dr. Duke Jones, department chair of Christian Ministry and a professor of Christian Education, received the Staff and Faculty Life Beautiful Awards during the annual employee Christmas banquet Dec. 3 at Southwest Baptist University.
Southwest Baptist University's Student Association and University Ministries are working together to collect shoeboxes campus-wide for Operation Christmas Child, which is a project of Samaritan's Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization.
