Ten SBU CIS students qualify for PBL nationals

Ten students in Southwest Baptist University's Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) Department prequalified from state-level competitions to compete at the Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) National Leadership Conference taking place June 24-27 in Atlanta, Ga. SBU and University of Missouri had more students qualify for the national competition than any other Missouri universities.

SBU to host faculty clarinet recital

Southwest Baptist University music faculty Regina Bruner, Melinda Smashey-Jones and Carol Harrison will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, in Meyer Recital Hall in the Casebolt Music Center.

SBU announces spring semester chapel schedule

Southwest Baptist University welcomes students, staff and the community to spring semester Chapel and Equip services, which take place weekly at 10 a.m. on campus in Pike Auditorium through May 4. Chapel services, which occur on Mondays, feature corporate worship and encouragement, and Equip services, which occur on Wednesdays, focus on teaching and equipping.

Cragin-Day conducts playwriting workshop for SBU Theatre

Southwest Baptist University Theatre hosted New York City-based playwright Chris Cragin-Day as a representative of The King's College's Study in the City program on Feb. 8.

Miller Management Systems names SBU scholarship recipient

Miller Management Systems, LLC (MMS) has selected the recipient for its MMS Excellence in Non-Profit Accounting and Leadership Scholarship to benefit top Southwest Baptist University accounting students for the 2017-18 academic year. Inna Dron, a junior accounting major from Brighton, is the recipient of this year's scholarship.

SBU adds health administration concentration to MBA

Southwest Baptist University is adding a Health Administration concentration to its Master of Business Administration degree.

SBU raises more than $111,000 in fifth, final CatFight Giving Challenge

Alumni and supporters of Southwest Baptist and Drury universities raised a combined $265,245 and surpassed the $500,000 combined fundraising benchmark during the fifth and final Bank of Bolivar CatFight Giving Challenge, which has helped raise money for each school's annual fund.

SBU's Wind Symphony, University Band to perform April 25

The Southwest Baptist University Department of Music will present the Wind Symphony and the University Band in concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 25, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.
