Two students to be crowned Mr. and Miss Southwest at annual pageant

Southwest Baptist University continues the tradition of honoring one male and one female student each year at the annual Mr. and Miss Southwest Pageant, which takes place this year at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, in Pike Auditorium on the SBU campus.

Changes being made to events on SBU campus

Depeé retiring from SBU-Mountain View, Miller is new campus director

Shae Miller will be the new campus director for Southwest Baptist University's Mountain View campus after Campus Director Donna Depeé's retirement in May.

SBU DPT students take part in MLK Day of Service

The mission statement of Southwest Baptist University calls for the university to prepare students "to be servant leaders in a global society," so it's not uncommon for SBU students to serve on mission projects at home and abroad.

Glasgow is first guest on new math podcast

Dr. Bob Glasgow, professor of mathematics at Southwest Baptist University, recently was the first guest on "Teaching Math Teaching," a new podcast produced by the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE).

SBU Theatre to present the musical "Overture" on March 5-8

Southwest Baptist University's theatre department will present the regional premier of the musical "Overture" at 7 p.m., March 5-7, with a matinee performance at 2 p.m., March 8, in the Davis-Newport Theater on the Bolivar campus.

SBU-Mountain View students awarded scholarships for 2020-2021

Southwest Baptist University-Mountain View students have been awarded scholarships, including the Bolerjack, Sharp, Glass, Shaw and Oak Grove Baptist Church scholarships, for the 2020-2021 academic year.

SBU celebrates Women in STEM

As the United Nations hosts the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on Feb. 11, Southwest Baptist University also celebrates the women - both faculty and students - working and studying in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
