The SBU Community Concert Series welcomes Thomas G. Stein as he presents a concert on tuba at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18 in Meyer Recital Hall on the Bolivar campus of Southwest Baptist University.

The Southwest Baptist University Speaking Bearcats got off to a strong start to the second half of the 2019-2020 season by winning the 22nd Gorlok Gala Tournament on Jan. 24-26, hosted by Webster University in St. Louis.

Southwest Baptist University theatre students recently were honored at the 52nd annual Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, which celebrates work by colleges and universities in the eight-state region during 2019, on Jan. 19-24, 2020, in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Southwest Baptist University will host the 2020 High School Invitational Choir in a concert of choral music at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.

Joseph Wilson, a rising senior chemistry major and Gordon and Judy Dutile Honors Scholar at Southwest Baptist University, is one of 14 college students to be selected to participate in the 2020 Wheaton College Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts Symposium, which will be held virtually on May 26-30.

SBU learned on Friday evening, February 21, a newly elected trustee may have mishandled child sexual abuse allegations against one of his staff members in 2005. This case resulted in multiple criminal convictions of the staff member.
